D: We got a late start this morning, with many tasks still to complete before departure. Left just before noon and traveled to Galena, Illinois -- arriving after nine hours and 362 miles. There were scattered rain showers, but we missed any real rain.
One of the interesting sites along the way were windmills along US-52 near Fowler, Indiana. Check out the photos at http://elips.smugmug.com/. By the time we got to Savanna, Illinois, the sun was shining through the clouds, the weather was cooler, and we enjoyed a beaufiful ride north on IL-84 along the Mississippi River. It was a welcome change after a day of riding through heat and humidity with clothing more suitable for northern climates.
Pray for safe and healthy travels.
