Ice Fields Parkway, Banff National Park

D: We left Grande Cache this morning under sunny skies and cool temperatures and traveled south on AB40 to Trans-Canada Highway 16, that took us into the National Park to Jasper, Alberta. We rode south on AB93 to Banff, with many stops along the way. By the time we got to Jasper, serious rain seemed to be threatening, but it ended up being scattered showers, with some sunshine in between for the rest of the day. We saw lots of mountain sheep up north and crossed paths with a bear in the road later in the day.
T: We saw two bears today, hopefully the pictures David took will show one of them. The scenery is spectacular here and we revisited places we saw on our honeymoon including Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls and the Columbis Icefield. We also went to see Chateau Lake Louise briefly - the lake was frozen when we stayed there but today it was a beautiful blue in spite of the rain.
