Anchorage Maintenance Day

D: We spent the day in Anchorage, while the motorcycle was being serviced, and will spend our second night here this evening. We have come a total of 4,356 miles since we left home, and the motorcycle needed fresh lubricants and filters, a valve adjustment, and computer analysis.
Therese did the laundry at our motel. We packed up some "extras" that aren't needed and shipped them home to mother. This evening, we had a delicious seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant. Afterward, we rode out to Point Woronzof Park where there is a nice view of the city, Cook Inlet, and (on a clear day) Mount McKinley. It was very windy (15 mph plus), so we didn't spend a lot of time there. Check out the photos at http://eclips.smugmug.com/ and be sure to view the galleries in "slide show" mode.

  1. Just wanted to let you know I have been following you adventure with great interest and envy. I just got back from Queens, NY where I delivered Katie's furniture in a uHaul (a different kind of adventure - 2,000 miles in 4 days) and was delighted to see the mountain photos. Looking forward to the "sideshow" when you return. Wishing you safe travels.

  2. I'm glad that you are following our adventures. I think you probably had a more concentrated adventure experience -- you would need to put a gun to my head to get me to drive a U-Haul in NYC.
